Using YouTube for the information!
I taught a lesson on
Zed’s Bread. It is a text for grade three students. This books talks about a
boy who loves to bake bread.

We talked in length about the likes
and dislike of eating bread. I had to talk when a bread is eaten since many of
my students come from villages where bread is eaten as snacks. Some of my
students were amused how bread is baked. We shared how breads can be eaten in
different ways. All students wanted to try baking bread in the class but since
we were lacking resources for the process, we dismissed the idea of baking.

Instead we came up with
the idea of watching other bake bread and cake on YouTube. Children were
divided into smaller groups. They were given 10 minutes each to watch a baking
process and take notes on it. They reported what they watched on YouTube.
Instruction for the activities:
1. Go to Google
2. Type YouTube
3. Type" How to bake a cake?"
4. Watch the video
5. Take note of all the ingredients
6. Report to the class

Children now want to bake a cake for themselves. We are planning for a baking class next week.
Note* Look for our baking report update in my next blog.
