Smart Phone as my monitoring tool

Smart Phone as my monitoring tool

This time I have come up with use of my smart phone as a monitoring tool. I taught my usual topic on the day. We had a meeting before I could complete my activity in the class. Engaging higher class students was not possible since they were also given enough activity to stay engaged until their teacher comes out from the meeting.
So, I gave my children to do their activity in groups. They will present their group activity in my absence. They can present their group work by coming in front of the smart phone I kept in recording mode. I was super excited to see what children must be doing in front of the camera.
I informed them that my smart phone will be acting as their teacher. It will record everything they do until I am back from the meeting. I told them to be good children in the class especially when their teacher is not there with them in the class.

Eagerly waiting while I was installing the camera for the recording

The video below is what my children were doing when I was away in the meeting. I edited few clips in between using my little knowledge of camtasia software. I loved my children more after watching the recording because they can maintain their discipline by themselves.  And I am happy with myself for coming up with the idea of using phone as monitoring tool. It helps us in emergency and maintain
our children well in the class in our absence.

  18. You acted smarter than many of us could think of...and this is the advantages of ICT. Given the situations and optio s we can do many things with the help of ict. Now think that what might be the situation of your class if have not done in that way...your children might have ran here and there....shouted and done many unwanted things. Thumps up for you for the wonderful job!!!
