Teaching is the process of attending to people’s needs, experiences and feelings, and intervening so that they learn particular things, and go beyond the given. According to the definition, we as a educator need to cater to every children to learn better. Teacher need to equip children to cope up with different learning approaches. Hence, I have taught my children to get extra information about the topic they are learning from the net.
I gave my children to use my computer. Children took turns to use it to find information they were asked to find.
Instruction Given:
1. Go to Google
2. Write "long I sound words" and enter
3. Read the words given on the page.
4. Cope few interesting words to share to your class.

With this type of opportunity, children learns a lot. First, they learnt how to handle the computer. Typing was another experience, and they were so amazed to see the information displayed after they typed their question.
Each group were given enough time to explore and learn by themselves. My children really enjoyed the activity and they want to have such activities in their next class. I am planning to create such plans in the future for more learning for my children.

ReplyDeleteIt was good experience for your children to explore themselves. You are very much right that teaching has to cater to fullfill individual aspiration and to do that we need to look beyond our normal traditional way of teaching.
ReplyDeleteHowever I would like to suggest one thing for you to improve in your next lesson...that is if you could borrow laptops from your teacher friend and if you could provide at least one computer to each group having less numbers of children...so that all the children may get opportunity to use it. Otherwise your lesson was perfect...great work!!!
Good used of ICT to explore your children through computer. I didn't understand what are you really want to share about your topic.

Your students might have experience some alteration in learning because you have made them to explore by themselves which is of great idea.
ReplyDeleteFor more effective, you could have borrow laptops or use mobile phones if your shcool have shortage of computers. Just my feelings la because it depends on individual teachers. Any how great work!!!
Computer works whenever we stuck in like spelling, meaning and so on. It's upto our hand how to use it and get the information but we need to handle it properly and need to inform children how to use computers properly to avoid damage.
